Time to act. Consultation on the future licensing of aesthetic practitioners completing non-surgical cosmetic (aesthetic) procedures.

Back in April 2022 The new Health and Care Act 2022 was passed which gave the Government powers to introduce a licensing scheme for aesthetics practitioners who operate in England. The primary reason for the legislation was to reduce the risk of harm associated with ineffectively performed non-surgical cosmetic procedures, also known as aesthetic procedures, to the public.  At the time the Government did not state the timeline on when a licensing scheme would be implemented by.

The Government has now published their consultation document to gain views on what the proposed licensing scheme should look like for practitioners in England.
